Paris was awesome. I only wish I had more time so I could have gone to other places other than France. I think my favorite thing was Versailles.
Scout got bit by another dog while we were away and had to get staples which put a damper in the vacation. But he got them out this past weekend and is all healed.

I've been happier at work since I moved my desk from the front into the back on friday and now share an office. No longer dealing with the students directly.
I think about opening my own store constantly but I know it's not really the time. Jim and I are still talking about buying a house soon and that's about all the serious life I can handle for the moment.

SEPTA went on strike yesterday and I'm just really happy that I have a scooter and don't deal with the subway anymore. I fucking hate SEPTA. As much as I feel bad for everyone who doesn't have transportation anymore, it is so nice to not have to deal with SEPTA buses on the road. Did I say FUCK SEPTA? Yes, FUCK SEPTA. Traffic has increased but it hasn't affected me too much. It's really pleasant living so close to work.

I really want the yankees to win the world series, not so much because I care, but just because I really hate most Phillies fans and want to see them miserable.

Thrift store shopping this weekend as well as lots of relaxing.

He's such a turd.

Other than that, life is pretty good.

I am going to Paris one week from today and that's all I am trying to focus on.
Drinking coffee at the cute cafes, seeing the sights like notre dame and versailles, fleamarkets, and just exploring a city that I've never been to before.
I am beyond excited. Not only to have 9 days off of work, but it's PARIS. I've never really been out of the country (Mexico and Canada don't count).
I pretty much have the best boyfriend ever for taking me.
Paris in October! Our trip is booked and I'm super excited, I can barely sleep at night!

I am in the process of opening an etsy shop for all my vintage clothing. I have like 40 pieces to sell right now. It's a lot of work but I can't wait to get it all started. I just got my dress form in the mail yesterday!

Get to see Leanne/Ben on friday night for the first time in like 4 years. I have not seen them since I moved away from Athens.

Have a free half day of work on friday as well as taking off Monday for a long weekend in NY with the boy. Plan on catching up with some childhood friends as well as spending time with the folks and going into the city.

Life is really good to me these days.

Plus it's nice to have more money to waste on etsy.

Jim and I are planning a trip to Paris in October.
So thursday Jim and I went to NY for passover. It was the same as it is every year, my dad and uncle being drunk and obnoxious during the seder. It's the funniest thing. It is the one time of the year my mom decides to be religious.

Anyways, it was a fun weekend. We went bowling with my parents and I kicked everyone's ass the second game which is weird since I haven't bowled in like 8 years. I think I would like to do it more often as it was so much fun. We also went to visit Amanda and Daniel in Astoria and I'm so glad they got to meet Jim.

We move into our new apartment this coming weekend. We spent sunday painting it and I am so super excited as this apartment is the bomb. I seriously feel like i'm living in a house. I have so much to decorate (Jim calls it 'nesting' and thinks it's very cute) that my thoughts are just everywhere.
The guy who lives next door to us already offered us over for a drink when we move in. Man, my neighbors seem awesome.

Life is good.

This morning on the train there was a woman screaming at her kids. There was a 2 year old on her lap and 2 six/seven year old boys. Everyone on the train was really quiet and uncomfortable. I wanted to say something a million times. She then pulled one of the boys over and hit him and I just started crying right there on the train. She was yelling about how she can't live with them anymore and was going to call DHS on them (which is ridiculous since DHS is child protection services) and that when the train stopped she was going to whoop his ass. And the kid is sitting there crying with his hands in front of him as a shield, obviously terrified. I felt disgusted.

And I sat there and I hated myself for sitting there. I hated myself. But I felt that there was nothing I could do. I felt that had I said anything i would have made it worse. And I just sat there and cried and thought about how terrible their home life must be if this is how she was in public. And I thought about how these boys have been given no chance at life.

They got off at my stop and I asked the subway booth guy to keep an eye on her because I was scared for the kids.

And then I walked away crying and felt like a piece of shit.
Happy tuesday morning.

so the apartment fell through (because the crazy landlord wanted a $750 pet deposit amongst other things) and we spent this weekend looking at apartments that sucked. total bummer.

this weekend was filled with quality boy time: getting haircuts together, riding bikes to rittenhouse, lunch in the park, reading quietly together at barnes and nobles. <3<3

recently: scout burned his paw pad on rock salt (poor little fucker)

otherwise, life is carrying on as normal. i'm pretty content these days.

i'm trying not to get ahead of myself but Jim and I found the most awesome 2 bedroom apartment yesterday. it is located at 23rd and naudain (fucking awesome because i wanted to live on a side street) and it's in a gated courtyard which rules.

it is just a really really nice apartment, pet friendly (and super close to my favorite dog park) super close to rittenhouse, super close to a little grocery store/bars/food places. and it seems like it's going to work out, the landlord emailed us the rental application already.
this is only the second place we looked at but oh man we both love it and the area.

Xcrosses fingers.

being in san francisco is the bomb. it was -2 when we left philly on saturday morning and yesterday i sat outside in the sun in short sleeves and was sweating. best thing ever.

i would say the toughest part about being here is the realization of how much of a shitty/dirty/cold city philly is compared to san francisco. i feel like i'm over it.

the best thing is that my hotel is 2 blocks from sofi's apartment. not even planned. the best thing is sofi in general.
other best thing = being on vacation with my boyfriend with no worries in the world. we are getting along fabulously, work is thousands of miles away, my dog is being looked after. i feel euphoric. i feel like i can breathe for the first time in months.

today = fisherman's wharf and riding bikes over golden gate bridge.
wednesday we are renting a car to drive to santa cruz to visit my twin cousins.

life is good.
jetlag stinks.
the end.
